Respecting a person with hidden differences dignity and their sense of value are essential steps forward. Explore more with the information below.
1. Dignity
Regardless of any difficulties, a person with differences dignity & basic human rights should not be ignored. They have the right to choose & how they feel and to decide whatever that important for them is important. No one should use their differences to ignore or overrule their dignity. Also, a person's differences should not be used to undermine or belittle their experiences along with their insights or thoughts. They should never be spoken down at such being ordered or be dictated what feel to do or how they think. Never suppress a person with differences feelings & expressions.
Any form of dignity being denied will be damaging their mental health & confidence in the short term. The long-term consequences when they are made to feel become demoralised and would not be able to maintain any form of stability. A person's differences should mean they should never be regarded as a little person such as being shamed for exercising their rights to choose, to challenge or to speak out.
2. Integration & inclusion
The importance of a person with differences being an integrated & inclusive member of society along with all types of society is essential for a person with differences to maintain their sense of purpose and belonging.
A person with differences can face challenges. Their abilities may be different but this can mean they can face obstacles in comparison. This occurs if the person's differences are not well understood including how their difficulties affect them, including their strengths and their intentions. This can lead to negative obstacles as they are wrongly defined against them because of their differences. Examples of obstacles include rejections, exclusions and in some cases being alienated & marginalised.
This is due to can lead to a person with differences being under expectations and having their character and integrity challenged. Sadly their differences can be seen as a negative personality judgement.
Certain environments can make a person with differences a very low sense of belonging and become marginalised, excluded and alienated (especially if there don't have a social circle and support base), then they are high to forced to be less seen. This is highly likely to happen if their differences used to be bullied, manipulated and exploited without a supportive surrounding and a strong social circle. If they get similar issues in different environments they are highly likely to isolate themselves including stopping socialising and staying at home to maintain their stability. This is important as any negative effect can affect other life sense of purposes such as work, education and leisure.
3. Participation
Understanding & paying more attention to a person's differences strengths and positive attributes. This is key to enabling them to be impressive participants & contributors. Because a person with differences has specific limitations & coping mechanisms, never impose any form of unrealistic expectations or demands. However, they must not be taken advantage of. It is so important that their contribution & participation. However, they will not trust, reach out or make any efforts on anyone who uses their contribution to take advantage or to use strategic tactics to turn against them as a way to get rid of them. This example will lead to mistrust which cannot be reversible.
4. Well represented
A person with differences can be easily misrepresented as suspicious and wrongly seen as a potential problem (this is without fully understanding the person). Also, negative typecasts which is caused by a minority of individuals with similar conditions.
See a person beyond their perceptions. Don't make quick assumptions and get to fully understand their, circumstances, intentions and what they like to overall achieve without instant judgements. Set aside any suspicious. If they are not at their best understanding they have specific ability & coping limitations. Not to use them to make character judgements such as weakness or a potential risk.
Warning
If you typecasted, defy a person with differences negatively or create a dishonest environment against them, they will use their dignity to turn against you in a way that you won't expect which will be difficult to reverse any mistrust you cause.
5. Responsibility & adjustment
A person can be self-aware with attempts to be considerate and meet any obligation and virtue. This can vary from person to person. Some can use a person's differences to disapprove and to undermine their consideration of others. If their efforts to be considerate and to take responsibility are underestimated or be disappointed which will mean can change their consideration and character because of mistrust.
Warning of factors of rejecting differences & high-level intelligence:
Their adjustments can be easily disrespected despite their high intelligence, their perceived differences see their adjustments in bad character as arrogant or big-headed.
Other factors to consider:
It is Inappropriate to judge a person with differences such as awkwardness and stubbornness without understanding.
If a person with differences is going through too many challenging situations against them and have little and no one to turn to then they are highly likely to cope badly with any situations, environments and circumstances which beyond their comfort zone or very challenging. It is very important to make them feel supported and appreciated throughout.
