Elements of Value: Dignity

Dignity is an important one of the five examples of a positive sense of value. Without it, a person with differences is prevented to maintain a sustainable life or moving forward positively.

Regardless of the kind of difficulties a person lives with, their dignity and basic human rights must be respected throughout. This includes their rights of preferences, choices to feel happy, sad or upset. Along with their rights to challenge or to suspect something's is not right. A person with differences is human and not undermine how they feel if they are being compromised.

Their voices and expressions need to listen to a face value without using their differences to doubt or to downgrade their intelligence.

Any decision that affects their circumstances, health & well being must involve a person with differences and never make violate their rights by making decisions for them or against their wishes.

Also, a person with differences should have the right to exist and fiction without discrimination, abuse or hatred. Also the importance of speaking up against mistreatments without being dismissed, shunned and underestimated.
