To meet any expectations, standards & obligations a person with differences needs to have their adjustments to maintain their stability & suitability.

Background Information

Without anyone noticing it, there can be a conflict of expectations while not considering the realistic aspects. 

This expectation is made if some factors, some is about thinking abilities, skills or achieve focus actions such as learn to cook certain meals or to raise standards of appearance. It could also be multiple if thinking considerations and ready to respond during major events such as weddings, Christmas or moving home or support a different person they are going through challenging times. 

Because of a difference of abilities a person with hidden differences have, they to approach or manage many things & situations differently. Some have their system including to use pocket-size notepads or develop a strategy or to do complicated tasks by note-taking by using their smartphones & tablet devices.

Be aware they could have a different approach to undertake many expectation or standards is not the same as an average person who which is natural or effortless. For people with invisible differences, it can be mentally intense and could only manage situations within smaller bite sizes. 

It important that if a person with differences feels pushed beyond the abilities and coping mechanisms limited it could risk dangerous areas such as frustrations, anxiety or be worse.
Main Points

Be aware of the adjustments a person with invisible difficulties has to do to undertake or achieve a particular task, skills or manage over a major occasion. (This Includes slightly different adjustment)

* Support and encourage their systems which able for them not to struggle to have their abilities and coping mechanisms compromised.

* Always consider the realistic limitations & any side-effects (including psychological & emotional) against any expectations, demands or pressures.

* Patience is mandatory & never make unrealistic demands you causing unnecessary strain and them not able to undertake anything natural or authentic.

* Remember it is not to blame a person for their specific difficulty, they have to live with this 24/7 & not you.

The description “Invisible Difficulties” are used for this initiative which covers independent, intelligent and articulate adults and young people who live with specific difficulties which as hidden and would not be visually obviously at first impression. The examples including memory, on the spot thinking ability, communication, reading, writing & calculation. These example above mainly relates certain people with Autism (at moderate and high-functioning level), ADHD, Social Anxiety, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia. Click here for more details.
