This project is designed for everyone in society to go beyond understanding with the importance of valuing an adult or young person with ADHD 

Introduction

There is an unspoken issue which can easily go unnoticed. Within the world of diverse cultures and communities, there are many people ADHD can face many challenges and boundaries due to lack of understanding, tolerance, patience and empathy.

Some people with differences are well understood and have a greater insight and to have good intentions along with their efforts to adjustable and to improve their sense of purpose. 

However, an ADHD person can face many stigma with unhelpful and can be wrongly seen as a taboo when sharing their difficulties & experiences with others. This is partly because of the negative stigma associated with typecasting an extreme negative assumption.

The Importance of value

Regardless of the types a difficulties a person with ADHD may live with it is important to  go beyond understanding  with valuing, patience and support a person with ADHD.

  • Dignity

    Just like everyone else, a person who has ADHD who lives with hidden related differences is entitled to exercise their dignity & basic human rights.



    * Never to use a person with hidden difficulties to deny their human rights. 

    * Stop using perceptive mindset to insult against a person's difficulties. Especially when are being pushed beyond their coping limitations and when undertaking tasks very challenging. They may appear different but it is not acceptable to make dehumanising comments. Their difficulties are not a choice to stop bothering them.

    * if a person with ADHD is challenging something wrong or standing up against wrong attitudes you should never dismiss or make ordering attitude. 

  • Natural & Authentic

    It is very important to be aware of how a person with ADHD can live their lives naturally. 


    * Climate, environment, atmosphere, 

    A variation with surrounding climates, environments and atmosphere may affect a person with ADHD to undertake and complete tasks or actions. Overbearing surroundings can disrupt how a person with hidden differences manage. It is very essential not to judge the person with ADHD against their character if they are struggling. It is not a form of bad management or laziness. There are health and other well-being side effects of the limitations are ignored. 



    * not to randomly test & put on the spot, 

    Never use a person with ADHD to test their abilities with inappropriate judgements of strengths and weaknesses or to put them on the spot which not enabled them to manage situations or to communicate effectively


    * Not too demanding, 

    A reminder that a person with difficulties a person with ADHD has is not a choice or a form of character. So never impose impatient or intolerant demands, otherwise, you will not bring the best out of them


    * Not ignore limitation without shaming

    Because of difficulties a person lives with it does mean do have some limitations on their abilities and coping mechanisms.


    A mentioned elsewhere, negative side effects on the physical have been can cause harm towards a person with differences. So it essential to not to undermine if to dismiss any kind of limitations. It is not the fault of individuals with ADHD for the difficulties so you should not be critical, disrespectful or make them shameful.


    * Not impose spontaneous pressures

    There are some expectations to follow anything spontaneous by others when it comes to something out of the ordinary and last minute. This including examples at short notice such as weeks trip abroad or attending a music concert. 


    Before you make a spontaneous request you need to take consideration of a person's difficulties can affect how they cope. 


    Also to consider whenever it was inappropriate time based on their circumstances or what they are going through at the time. You should never attack a person with ADHD against their character if they react not in a way you to expect from them. 


    In summary, you should not impose spontaneous requests. Instead, talk about it as an idea and listen fully on whether it will be appropriate and in some cases discuss options in detail the make sure person with ADHD is not going to be compromised in any way.



  • Adjustments

    Enable a person with ADHD to manage their life and not let their difficulties held them back is essential to understand and value a person with ADHD way to adjust their daily life. Due to the variating types of difficulties from person to person, the kind of adjustments is not the same for everyone with differences.


    * Routines & procedures to enable to cope, 

    There are variations on particular procedures and routines with the person need to do to maintain their stability and ability to manage several situations and circumstances.

    Examples might include note-taking having regular times out or a mini evaluation.


    * Tools, additional aids & patience

    Adjustment doesn't just apply to procedures but also references or tools. Example if someone with short-term may need to refer to note regularly. Whatever the kind of just explain need to do it must be supported and respected and not be found on or be shamed.


    * not to demonise, block & deny their adjustments, 

    Regarding how you think it's unusual odd any adjustments a person with ADHD may have to undertake never criticise or to deny the adjustment procedures. Otherwise, you are distrupting their own the way of coping with their daily lives.


  • Expressions

    If a person with ADHD is explaining how their difficulties affect them,  never dismiss their expressions or used their difficulties to order them down.


    * Patience

    Some cases take longer to complete particular tasks, recalling, digest comprehend information. Never use their difficulties to cause unnecessary strain which affects to have a person with differences ability to function.


    * challenging unplanned questions & testing

    Because memory can affect a person with ADHD, never demand challenging questions or create toxic arguments. If a person with ADHD has informed their difficulties never use this to test on the spot with devil's advocate scenarios or any unplanned information which takes them longer to prepare to answer. Don't be offensive or be disrespectful related to their difficulties.



    * Don't pressure for expressions & insight unplanned

    If you notice a person with certain differences in abilities never impose pressurising demands for them to express their experiences on the spot & on short notice. Making demands at short notice makes it harder for a person with ADHD to express their point effectively when they're not as comfortable at the time. Modify your tone on how you speak to them and instead, offer to listen to them when they are more comfortable. 


    However, when you are being informed make sure you stay patient to have an open mind and avoid quick judgement especially when all the expressions or insight are not fully shared.

    Any form of impatience response and demands can lead to comments & guidance which will become unhelpful, making a person with differences feeling inadequate

    * Wrong presumptions are made become of the kind of difficulties that is not visible leading to false typecasting band hostile accusations.

    * Not make a simple suggestion which is unhelpful and irrelevant with have context & insight.

    * Not to profile a person with ADHD against their intelligence

    * Stop making belittling & demonising language

    * Never make negative presumptions with ordering language against them when they have done nothing wrong including their ability speeds

    * If a person with ADHD is asking for help that others can manage never communicate to them which implies that they are lazy or a nuisance.



  • Appreciated

    Because of the type of difficulties a person with ADHD may live with good intentions to be considerate and look out for others. This includes helping others out by providing assistance or guidance. There are no generalisation levels of efforts and consideration from a person with dyslexia and it can vary from person to person.


    * Showing appreciation of efforts & consideration

    It is important to show appreciation when a person with ADHD when they are making special consideration effort and action. Especially when they face greater pressures and intolerance and in some cases unfair disrespect. 


    * Regular appreciation reminders

    Every so often is important to remind show appreciation and why. Especially if any efforts a person with ADHD cannot be made by anyone else


    * The appreciation exchange

    A person with differences must be regularly is being appreciated because it will affect how is so appreciated by others. In other words, if a person with ADHD is constantly being criticised, disrespected or undervaluing and not likely to show that in return to anyone.



  • Not exploit their intelligence

    * Do not exploit their voice

    If a person with ADHD is taking action or speaking up against something that is not right never use technically, false allegations & inconsistent responses to silence their voice. This is damaging their liberation and is an indirect form of discrimination by violating their basic human rights 


    * Challenge their ability against their difficulties

    if a person is sharing something important but their difficulties affect fully articulating points or recall information never make remark what they are sharing. You are using their difficulties to take them less seriously and they will see that as an insult.


    * Making inappropriate suggestions against expressions

    if a person with ADHD is saying important concern and issue never respond with inappropriate suggestions with the implies that are less intelligent. For example if a person is sharing an increasing amount of harassment and hate crimes don't make suggestions go to a learning disability social group. It's a form of misguiding insults which imply less intelligent presumptions.



  • Functioning life

    * Don't impose pressures on an environment & climates that affect a person with ADHD cope and maintain stability

    * Any change of procedures & requirements for a service, will take longer for a person with hidden differences including ADHD. For example at restaurants or certain public transport services with compulsory ordering screens & compulsory credit cards rather the speaking a person and paying cash. So don't make demanding pressures if a person with ADHD is slower or may be struggling.


    So never use a person's difficulties to pressure or demand which damage their ability to function.

    * Some may appear slower in ability speeds. However you never but put a strain by making speed up. This is especially when you didn't provide extra time in the first place. If a situation or matter is urgent to complete quicker mention this upfront without the demanding language such as "hurry up" or "stop being slow"

    Take time to understand how their differences affect them in all types of life balance along with the different climates and coping environments.


    Avoid demands of unrealistic expectations and realise the limitation on their abilities and coping mechanisms


    Be aware that there are very dangerous consequences when their sense of value is not respected and when their coping mechanisms are pushed to the limit.


    Always give them their own personal space including time outs and create their personal development.


    Modify how you communicate and interact to make sure they fully understand. But do not go excessive or overloading.


    it is essential to show support and to respect their adjustments actions and routines for a person with differences, no matter how odd or unusual it is.

Everyone can follow the advice on this project with empathy, patience, encouragement with an open mind you can get more out of a person with ADHD and can be positive aspect to your family, friends, relationships and all paths of society.


Also, many people with differences have positive strengths and positive qualities and attributes. Focus on these more and you can more out of them positively.
