Since its launch in 2015 Plus Value Awareness has used the word "Invisible Disabilities" as a collective term for the five featured conditions including the Autistic Spectrum (as mild & moderate level) along with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety.
This term has received mixed and some cases on unsupportive response. Because the title is similar to invisible disabilities, it can be seen as misleading. Also, people living with differences have not approved the term invisible disabilities name as it felt the title didn't apply to them.
So a change of desciption title was developed to distinguish itself from a family of Mental Health & Disabilities all types (regardless of physical, learning, blindness & injury) to prevent misinterptations. Especially when this awareness is able-bodied and independent people who are intelligent & articulate.
So after consultation and feedback the description the collective title is now changed to "Hidden Differences". This is broken down as hidden is another alternative way of saying invisible and differences is not to confused from general disabilities.
On occasions, this will be simplified as differences.
The Hidden Differences description title will start to appear with online text on a gradual basis. The changes will be also be used on a social media with the new style status templates.
