Support statement

Plus Value Awareness statement
by Project Director Keith McKenzie

Everyone's stress level is not the same so we need to be all aware of how certain people can be stressed more than others. it is not a form of weakness or helplessness but being realistic to prevent any negative consequences of stress is ignored.

The importance of understanding when a person with hidden differences (including autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety) not be pushed beyond how they can manage and their coping mechanisms. Also, we must never use this to attack a person with difference's character, dignity and integrity or further strain or pressure. Instead, we must accept and support any adjustments a person with differences need to do to enable them to cope with any situation which can occur anytime.

Stress Awareness Month mainly highlights how areas affect the working environment. It is also important to address the matter of how areas can affect a person with hidden differences in daily life.
