Support statement from Keith Mckenzie, Project Director

The world might have changed in the past five years, but it is extremely concerning that hate crimes escalated towards all disabilities.

If everyone does not take notice and takes action to reduce this, then we could have a much-divided society for all disabilities with a negative culture of "Them & us".

We must not ignore experiences and how individuals with hidden differences are treated.  Any experiences of any types of prejudice and hate crime must be listened including discrimination, hatred threats, bullying and stigma. This is regardless how unique or unusual the situation is. Some people with hidden differences have to face unique types of discrimination and hatred, this leads to their voices are silenced as the minority experiences are seen as irrelevant.

Every voice of hate crime should be listened to heard and supported, no excuses.

Everyone must make greater responsibility, it is now a societal problem. So it's time to make positive changes, now!

Update

New for supporting this year's event is campaign " Zero Toxic" launched in November 2022 it provides a variety of information along with guidance and factors to consider. This replaces the previous project "is this the right value?"
