Support statement

Plus Value Awareness comment
by Keith McKenzie

The autistic spectrum is much more then what you may hear or read about on television, news media & elsewhere.

There are many people in the autistic spectrum who are achievers and can make a positive difference in the world. Many are ambitious and have strengths and positive attributes.

So instead of typecasting or to wrongly misjudge or to mistreat, see an autistic person beyond how you perceive them. Understand them better and give them a chance can achieve more and become a positive asset to society.

Event information

This annual event which is developed and promoted by the organisation Aspies for freedom.

Created in 2005 and awareness events which specifically promotes the positivity and some price for people living with the autistic spectrum.

The events distance itself from the more recognised annual awareness events during April including World Autism awareness day and autism awareness month. This is because it is dominated by charities and organisations communication about the autistic spectrum but does not involve them. Also, the issues address can be perceived as dehumanising and denigrating. In some cases cause some shame for those living with autism.

This event is supported by those living with the autistic spectrum and from any members of society who value those living with autism beyond understanding.
