on Awareness Focus

& Understanding Series

Major online changes are being developed which will affect the online features "Awareness Focus" and "Understanding Series".

The "Understanding Series" is being phased out and will be transferred as part of a new integrated "Awareness Focus" feature

Accessing the information
Some of the existing pages including understanding information pages, facts & figures along with customised projects pages will be centred around the updated customised index pages of specific difficulties and selected diverse areas.

Colour Coding is ending
As part of the changes, the colour coding system to distinguish customised areas of hidden differences is being phased out and will be replaced by a new family of different visual designs. The new changes will also affect how customised versions of existing plus value awareness projects are presented. The new changes are being made from many comments from neurodivergent people who disapprove of any references to colour coding as it is seen as patronising, offensive and insulting.

A summary of the changes
Understanding webpages (Understanding Series)
The family of understanding webpages will be transferred and will be presented under the awareness focus feature. Each web page is to be redesigned and will be integrated on the part of the new awareness focus feature renamed as guide pages. These webpages will be accessed to the Awareness Focus feature & index and the new style customised index pages.

Understanding facts and figures (Awareness Series)
The family of facts & figures web pages will be transferred and will be presented under the awareness focus feature. Each web page is to be redesigned and will be integrated on the part of the new awareness focus features renamed as statistics pages. These webpages will be accessed through the Awareness Focus feature & index and the new style customised index pages. The visual presentation of the facts and figures will be modified as it will no longer display any colour coding

Focus indexes pages (Awareness Focus)
The focus index pages linked with awareness Focus (including versions with autistic spectrum, ADHD, dyslexia dyspraxia, women with hidden differences and multicultural with hidden differences index pages) are being represented as connected index pages. These index prices will now include the new guides and statistics pages transferred from the understanding series feature. Because of the changes the format of each index page will be redesigned. As part of the removal of colour coding the overall look of these index pages will be redesigned and presented under a family of distinctive visual designs.

The customise project pages
These pages are now modified to the minor visual references from the particular online project or campaign which is customised.

Because of the removal of colour coding, the overall presentation will be completely redesigned with the new style customised visual presentation including the new style distinctive visual designs linked with the connected index and web pages.

Converting to the new changes
These improvements and changes will be rolled out on a phased basis.
The new look has started to appear on some webpages including the Awareness Focus Feature and the customised index pages.

The specialised projects pages linked with the connected index pages will receive an updated look combined with the featured project and the visual presentation linked with the connected index. This will replace any colour coding.

The next process will be converting and transferring the existing understanding series web pages including the understanding web pages and the facts and figures linked with the specific areas of hidden differences. Not only the new look apply to these pages but also the format will be changed for clarity & legibility reasons.

The transformation will be concluded with a new additional family of Connected index pages for Anxiety & invisible disabilities along with new guide pages linked with the examples mentioned and Multicultural with Hidden differences and Neurodiversity.
