Role models & achievers with hidden differences have an important role to promote a better sense of value.

Background Information

The Plus Value Awareness initiative is about promoting & educating a better sense of value for people with invisible difficulties. As part of the initiative the primary awareness element "Value Icons" which embraces achievers & role models who have invisible difficulties.

This initiative is about promoting & educating a better sense of value for people with invisible difficulties.

Regardless of society's perceptions, there are many achievers and role models with invisible difficulties who are attempted to move forward in different areas such as education, employment & business. Also in others area related to communities, arts & music, sports, entertainment, community & politics at local & national level.

So it is more important to have more achievers and more people to share good practice.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE WITH INVISIBLE DIFFICULTIES
So if you do have invisible difficulty and have achieved an areas which many fortunate to achieved many areas which had benefitted many people in the community, it is important for you to share good practice to many more achievers and increase positive perceptions.

Thus includes:
* Sharing to other people with invisible difficulties your expertise

* Contribute to community groups and organisation on subjects and topics which others which may appreciate your input and you could even surprise others on feedback which no one has even considered.

* Share your achievement to media and news organisations to demonstrate diversity could event challenge assumptions. This is an important tool to reduce stigma and negative stereotypes.

* Very soon this initiative will feature and promote achievers and role models.

More achievers mean reduced misperceptions, stereotypes & therefore less stigma.

Move away from attitudes causing people with invisible difficulties who do great things as a threat or attention seeker.

The description “Invisible Difficulties” are used for this initiative which covers independent, intelligent and articulate adults and young people who live with specific difficulties which as hidden and would not be visually obviously at first impression. The examples including memory, on the spot thinking ability, communication, reading, writing & calculation. These example above mainly relates certain people with Autism (at moderate and high-functioning level), ADHD, Social Anxiety, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia. Click here for more details.
