Supporting
Neurodiversity Celebration Week
This webpage presents the overall theme for supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week
With a summary of key developments in supporting this year's event.
When some people hear or digest information about neurodiversity, it can be interpreted and perceived in a variety of ways and can lead to obstacles and boundaries.
So this year's presented theme for supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week focuses on making perceptions and interpretations
Not just the difficulties
When seeing the person beyond their difficulties you can not only bring the best out of them you can also get more out of them with every situation and circumstance. This means getting to understand what makes a person the best on what can be compromised. Also so be aware of a person's strengths and positive attributes but not at a level when they are wrongly taken advantage of.

It's not about how they are perceived
Some opinions have negative associations with a person's specific difficulties. The type of difficulties a person lives with Will varies from person to person within a specific condition. Some opinions only associate certain conditions and difficulties with stereotypes and myths.
It is also important not to sweep everyone under the same brush as that kind of reaction could disrupt a person's circumstances and situations.
Not just about education and employment opportunities
We must see you a diversity beyond accent opportunities or recipients to particular services.
We must value a neurodivergent as a citizen, community participant, a consumer and a voter during political elections.
This means improving the representation of neurodivergent by listening to and valuing their voices, experiences and insight from a neurodivergent person.

Sustainable not just short term
Though patience in supporting and embracing a person can be a benefit in the long term. However, it is essential to be prepared in advance if any circumstances occur. This includes a change of work practices and policies which could affect a person's ability to function while respecting their positive sense of value
Also supporting and embracing their personal development system along their routines which not only be organised and efficient but also can maintain their stability and be strategic.
Hidden potential
As well as a neurodivergent person using their strengths and attributes, if a person is supported and encouraged more positive qualities can be discovered with hidden potential in abilities, expertise and passions. This can only happen if supported and valued in the first place

The hidden boundaries
As well as looking at the positive related to diversity opportunities we also have to look at the hidden obstacles which can get in the way. Also if we don't look beyond the short term then there will be negative implications during the immediate and long term.

Not forgetting the positive changemakers
When looking beyond a person's difficulties then it can lead to a lot of positive achievers and role models.
The more positive role models, the more stigmas can be removed.

The information for this page will change annually with the information transferred to the showcase blog after 12 months.
