The Transformation
Within the past 18 months, major changes have been made in transforming two awareness features, "Awareness Focus" & " Understanding Series", into one integrated online feature.

(Presentation identity)
The presentation includes a family of visual language of stylised patterns to distinguish between different aspects of hidden differences.

The changes were made after feedback from many Neurodivergent people who are against colour coding. The changes show a consistent colour system throughout.

The new style customised index pages started to roll out with customised projects linked to specific areas of hidden differences.

The overall look of the information webpages was modified to make it easier to digest, including changes to the font size to improve legibility.

As part of the changes, a gradual rollout was made of transforming existing understanding and statistics webpages linked to the "Understanding Series". Not only redesign the webpages, but also align the understanding and statistics webpages with the Customised mini index pages of the Awareness Focus feature.
This includes Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Social Anxiety.

History
The online features for understanding information and customising projects were originally developed as two separate online features. One was focused on customised projects that are ever focused on information and understanding, and these were presented over a period of time using different brand names.

Understanding and information element
This element had a longer history before plus value awareness was launched in 2015. It was originally presented as the awareness series linked with the fundamental brand differences and autism challenges (now presented as differences originals). It originated around world autism awareness week and Month, with statistics and awareness reminders to focus on the human aspects.

The feature was relocated part of the plus value awareness website in 2015. In 2018, the feature was represented as an understanding series with expanding information related to understanding, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia and social anxiety. Also an understanding page on PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) and a
summary on Hidden Differences (which factors of Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety)

In 2021 to support International Women's Day understanding information about neurodivergent women with autism ADHD, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia was added

Starting from early 2024, the process began to transform information and understanding pages as part of the integrated awareness Focus.

The rollout began with understanding information about Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and ADHD, followed by the autistic spectrum. In May 2025, the transformation was complete, with information and understanding related to Social Anxiety also transformed. Also, the understanding and statistics webpages were redesigned as part of the integrated awareness Focus feature.


Customised project elements
In 2018, the awareness Focus began focusing on presenting customised versions of some of the key online projects related to autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.

From October 2021 onwards, the feature also includes specific articles related to the customised difficulties. This was linked with the online feature Events+

From early 2024 onwards, the process began on Redesigning the awareness feature with a new look while integrating understanding and information from the understanding series feature into one single integrated online feature.

It started with developing customised mini sections for Autism, Dyslexia Dyspraxia and ADHD.

Additional versions of customised sections were developed, including women with hidden differences, multicultural with hidden differences and Neurodiversity.

The transformation was completed with our customised index section focusing on social anxiety.

Since June 2025 the information projects and understanding were complete under the "awareness focus" brand

The reason why the changes were made was that some Neurodivergent people like to focus more on different aspects within specific difficulties. The intention is to make the online experience seamless and make it easier to access the required projects and information from the customised sections of this feature.

More developments to come
The Awareness Focus feature is planned to expand further with the specialised section to be added including equality and diversity and Invisible Disabilities
